News: The Honduran will be out for up to seven weeks after a second scan revealed he has a tear in the medial ligament of his left knee
News: The left back, who played in every league game for Wigan this season, finished joint eleventh among left backs in the clean sheets category with 13 after a 1-0 win at home to Portsmouth.
Analysis: Figueroa was also eleventh in the defensive points category but his fantasy value was dragged down by his team points and combined goals and assists tallies. A respectable enough performance, though.
News: The left back moved on to 12 clean sheets for the season as Wigan were held to a goalless draw with Bolton at the JJB Stadium.
Analysis: It's a decent tally but Wigan have been accruing points in binary form recently because of their struggle to score goals so there are better fantasy defensive options out there.
News: The Sun claims that Manchester United are interested in making a summer move for Figueroa.
Analysis: Now's a good time to point out that the Wigan left back has had a better fantasy season than Patrice Evra, who plays in his position for United. They're level on 11 clean sheets but the Honduran is leading in the defence and goals plus assists categories. Granted, Evra has played 856 minutes fewer than Figueroa but hey, it's still impressive.
News: The left back moved on to seven clean sheets after his first goal of the season gave Wigan a 1-0 victory at home to Tottenham.
Analysis: There aren't many left backs who would pop up on the edge of the six-yard box to head in a last-minute winner but be warned, Wigan's next fixtures are against the two Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
